Detour is a new app that isn’t out yet. This page covers the waitlist on this website: what we collect when you join, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect

Only what you type into the waitlist form:

Your email address and city
Your first name and the username you’d like (if you add them)
The kinds of detours you picked (if you pick any)
Who invited you, if you came from a friend’s link

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies on this site, and we don’t buy data about you from anyone.

Why we collect it

To hold your place on the waitlist and your username
To email you when Detour opens in your city, plus the occasional update before launch
To decide which cities to open first

We only use it for Detour. We never sell it or share it with advertisers.

Where it’s kept

Sign-ups are stored with our website host, Netlify, which may store data outside your country. We only use services that protect it properly.

How long we keep it

Until Detour launches and you’ve had the chance to create an account, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from any email with one click, or just reply and ask.
Ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time.
If you’re in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In Australia, that’s the OAIC.

Age

The waitlist is for people aged 16 and over.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If it’s a big change, we’ll email you first.
